Embroidery!!!

Currently, a friend of mine does all my embroidery work for me. She does a wonderful job, but she is MOVING!!! So it was time to buy my own machine! I ordered it today and will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon!

What this means for you, my clients:

I will be able to offer a lower price for monograms and other embroidery.
I will be able to offer a larger maximum size (was 4"x4", now 5"x7").
I will be able to offer a much shorter turnaround time on embroidered items.

These are all great things!

It will take me a few weeks to learn the machine and iron out my new pricing and all. Until then, my friend will still do my embroidery work. I will be sure to make another post with all of the new information.

And now here it is:

Yep, it has Disney stuff built into it!

One Year Anniversary!!!

I have to tell the story of how all this began. Back in April, I was planning on participating in my parents’ neighborhood yard sale. I had just started sewing again and had a permanent place to keep both machines out on a table. No more putting them away after completing a project. My mom suggested that, for the yard sale, I make some cute aprons. We thought that folks would snatch them up!

NOW LET ME TELL YOU HOW THAT WENT.

No one even looked at my aprons. Sigh. Oh well. Now at least I have a funny story to tell!

So I told this story to a lot of people. The reaction was always, “Oh I didn’t know you could sew.” or “I want to see the aprons, I’ve been looking for a cute one.” or “Can you make me _________?” Ever since then I have had projects to do for people.

And now here I am. I have been able to discontinue substitute teaching, which is wonderful!

By the way, the 2-day yard sale got me $100 and a F-150 full of stuff to take to Goodwill. What a wash.

For you faithful blog readers, you get 20% off one item today, tomorrow, or Sunday (before midnight EST) with the code ONEYEAR. You can pass it on to your friends also, but this is the only place you can get this code. :) I love you all and am grateful to have this business. You can purchase from my Etsy shop or email me at aprilforshee{@}gmail{dot}com.

100th Heart and 100th Sale!!!

Greetings from Boston! We've had a great trip so far! Let me just tell you that if it weren't for the horrible winters these nice people have to endure, I would be packing my bags to move! I love it here. The homes are quaint (and old). The towns are quaint, there are not Target stores on every corner, etc. BUT it's cold. I'm out.

As of right now, in my Etsy shop, I have 97 sales:
