Shopping Small { I'm Featured! }
With Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday already under our belts, there are only 26 days left to finish your Christmas shopping! Yikes! Personally, for me, this year has flown by. I’ve been looking forward to the Christmas season because I love giving unique, one of a kind items that my friends and loved ones treasure.
I also love to help {YOU} give unique items! It fills my heart up to hear that the items I have created found such wonderful homes. It makes what I do worthwhile.
Today, my new friend Stef has featured me on her blog! It’s Shop Small Tuesday over there and she is featuring my shop!
Stef and I just “met” through Twitter about two weeks ago,and we have a lot in common! She homeschools just like I do! So head on over and check out her blog!
Also, over at Overcoming Busy, is a good list of why Shopping Small is a great idea!

Festive Christmas Aprons!
This year I’ve chosen a wonderfully festive print for my Christmas Aprons! Pink, red and green trees are popped all over a bright white background and are sure to bring some Christmas cheer to your holiday baking and entertaining!
Available in both adult and child sizes, the aprons can be purchased individually (adult or child) or as a matching set. You can even add embroidery for a personalized touch!
I also have three adult aprons left in the red fabric below. Get them while they last!

College Football is Coming!
How great are these aprons for tailgating or grilling out on game day? Or every day?! These aprons are one size fits all with adjustable neck straps! You can even add an embroidered name or monogram for the perfect personalized game day apron! I can get other teams' fabric so please let me know what team you'd like! Most larger universities' fabrics are available.
Team aprons are $25 ($55 if you want a UGA one...just kidding...Go Jackets!...not kidding about that!) and to add a name or monogram is $6.50. Shipping is $3 for the first apron and $1.50 for each additional apron. 6% sales tax will be added for Georgia residents.

Custom Apron in Purple
My cousin's wife is undertaking a baking project with her friend and asked me to make them some matching aprons. They chose Robert Kaufman's Flower Child in purple for their fabric. Enjoy the photos!

The One That Started it All
This is the same style of apron that I made for myself about a year and a half ago! I was instantly hooked! I love browsing Etsy at all the different styles available. There are really complicated aprons with frills and such, but I'm a simple girl and just love beautiful fabrics. You can find this apron in my shop!

Changes!
Greetings to all of my clients and friends!
I have been busier than ever this spring, thanks to you! It's been a lot of fun. I've had time to pause to evaluate my business and have seen that changes are needed in my policies and pricing. The changes are not drastic but will better help me to serve my clients with the attention they deserve. I find myself being upset by companies who keep their prices the same but greatly diminish the quality of their product (like the now non-half gallon of ice cream!!! You all know what I'm talking about!). Rest assured that this will not be happening here! I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
My sales come from both my Etsy store (www.forsheedesigns.com) and from direct orders (people I know, word of mouth, etc.). I have set up my new pricing to differentiate between those different types of sales. Etsy costs money to use and I don't believe that non-Etsy buyers should have to bear the cost of that. There is a new pricing sheet with Etsy Prices, Direct Prices, and the Old Prices.
Attached you will find a new pricing sheet and a copy of my revised policies. These will go into effect on June 15. Until then, I will continue to operate at the Old Prices.
Thanks so much for reading and for your business! I truly value my clients and look forward to sewing for you!

Zippered Pouches and a Garden Apron!
I apologize in advance for the bad photography. I was in a hurry! Of course I will take some better shots on a later date.
Here's what I did today:

and a Garden Apron! I has three gusseted pockets perfect for gloves and tools. It's made out of IKEA canvas fabric and Kona cotton! I love it! These will be $19.50 plus tax and shipping, where applicable.

Enchanted Makeovers
Terry from Enchanted Makeovers contacted me a few days ago asking if I would donate one of my aprons for a cooking event that their organization was holding.
Enchanted Makeovers "transforms shelters for women and children into places of peace and possibilities—not just where basic needs are met, but spiritual needs for hope and beauty also."
Go to their website and see the beautiful work that Terry has done. Now. Do it!
I will not go into the details, but I have been physically abused by a boyfriend. It was a long time ago, and it only happened once. I left. It was extremely difficult because there is so much wrapped into a relationship...the worst part is letting that go and NOT calling him to get back together. People always ask abused women why they go back to their abusers. I can tell you why. A) I love him. B) I want to help him change. C) He will change because he loves me. D) The grown up thing is to not abandon him when he needs you. Those reasons are the tip of the iceberg, friends. Fortunately, for me, my logical voice was louder than those other voices.
My point in writing about this subject is to let you know that I understand the mentality of an abused woman, and I think Enchanted Makeovers is doing a wonderful thing by giving these women a beautiful place to live. I am honored that Terry asked me to donate.

Before and After--Custom Apron
A lady I know from church has worn this apron daily since her sister made it for her about 35 years ago. It meant a lot to her, but it had seen better days. She graciously asked if I could duplicate it, and I was happy to take on the challenge. The appliqued duck was the only part I was concerned about since I had never done an applique (believe it or not!). I did a practice run before doing the real thing and I think that was a smart move. Enjoy the photos!
