Personalized Zippered Pouches

I made these pouches last week for an Etsy customer. These were for her children's teachers. I thought it was such a sweet gift!

Koozies Are Here!

Pictured below is a can koozie. They can be embroidered on one or both sides. I love mine!

They are $8.50 and include basic embroidery (see Embroidery Services for other options) on one side, $10.00 to have both sides embroidered (both sides do not have to be the same)! Shipping is $2 for one and $0.50 for each additional koozie. As always, people in GA have to pay sales tax which is 6%.

Also available are beer bottle koozies! I'll be getting some photos of those up soon!

New Embroidery Designs

I have been working on getting some burp cloth/onesie/bib set examples done for you to see! They are turning out quite nicely. Look for the photos to come in the next week or so.

College Football is Coming!

How great are these aprons for tailgating or grilling out on game day? Or every day?! These aprons are one size fits all with adjustable neck straps! You can even add an embroidered name or monogram for the perfect personalized game day apron! I can get other teams' fabric so please let me know what team you'd like! Most larger universities' fabrics are available.

Team aprons are $25 ($55 if you want a UGA one...just kidding...Go Jackets!...not kidding about that!) and to add a name or monogram is $6.50. Shipping is $3 for the first apron and $1.50 for each additional apron. 6% sales tax will be added for Georgia residents.

Changes!

Greetings to all of my clients and friends!

I have been busier than ever this spring, thanks to you! It's been a lot of fun. I've had time to pause to evaluate my business and have seen that changes are needed in my policies and pricing. The changes are not drastic but will better help me to serve my clients with the attention they deserve. I find myself being upset by companies who keep their prices the same but greatly diminish the quality of their product (like the now non-half gallon of ice cream!!! You all know what I'm talking about!). Rest assured that this will not be happening here! I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

My sales come from both my Etsy store (www.forsheedesigns.com) and from direct orders (people I know, word of mouth, etc.). I have set up my new pricing to differentiate between those different types of sales. Etsy costs money to use and I don't believe that non-Etsy buyers should have to bear the cost of that. There is a new pricing sheet with Etsy Prices, Direct Prices, and the Old Prices.

Attached you will find a new pricing sheet and a copy of my revised policies. These will go into effect on June 15. Until then, I will continue to operate at the Old Prices.

School Colors Quilted Tote

I did these totes a few months ago in Hillgrove High School's colors. These would make great coach/teacher gifts or for the graduate in their college's colors. $40 includes monogram or name! (Plus tax and shipping.)

Embroidery Pricing

I am up and running with my embroidery machine! Here are the details:

SINGLE COLOR MONOGRAM OR NAME: $6 for small (up to 4"x4"), $8 for medium (up to 5.5"x5.5"), $10 for large (up to 5"x7").

TWO COLOR MONOGRAM OR NAME: $7.5 for small (up to 4"x4"), $9.5 for medium (up to 5.5"x5.5"), $11 for large (up to 5"x7").

The measurements listed are the size of the embroidered image.

Embroidery!!!

Currently, a friend of mine does all my embroidery work for me. She does a wonderful job, but she is MOVING!!! So it was time to buy my own machine! I ordered it today and will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon!

What this means for you, my clients:

I will be able to offer a lower price for monograms and other embroidery.
I will be able to offer a larger maximum size (was 4"x4", now 5"x7").
I will be able to offer a much shorter turnaround time on embroidered items.

These are all great things!

It will take me a few weeks to learn the machine and iron out my new pricing and all. Until then, my friend will still do my embroidery work. I will be sure to make another post with all of the new information.

Sleep? I don't need any sleep....

The craft fair I'm doing on Saturday is my first one, so there are a lot of things other than sewing projects that I needed to complete before showing up on Friday night to set up. I've made a sign, a monogramming options notebook, slips for a drawing I will be doing, shopped for a display for my bags (ended up with this), made order forms...and the list goes on.

I also needed to make an apron for myself (other than the one I cook in) to hold money and stuff. Check it out:

I used Patty Young's Mezzanine collection by Michael Miller Fabrics. I love this collection and knew I HAD to use it for MY apron.

Patty Young is a wonderful designer and has a new line coming out in December called Flora and Fauna. I wish it were out now so I could make some folks some stuff for Christmas presents with it! She has several different color palettes with this collection, which is a wonderful option to have. Which one do you like best? Leave me a comment and I will enter your name into my "fishbowl" at the craft fair this weekend. I'll be giving away an apron and a Buttercup Bag!!!

My First Craft Fair!

My friend Stephanie passed on some information about a craft fair at a church, and I decided to do it! I thought that it would be important for my first Christmas as a business to do at least one of these.

Here are the details: November 21, 8am-2pm at Sunrise Baptist Church, 3000 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30045

The products I will have available for order are:

• Tote bags
• Buttercup bags (large and small)
• Diaper Bags
• Aprons---adult and kid size, even a "Mommy and Me" matching set!
• Monogrammed items: kitchen towels, hand towels, fleece blankets, etc. (I will have photos of these soon!)
• Anything else you can think of!

My deadline for Christmas orders will be Friday, November 27 at midnight. I plan on shipping those orders no later than Thursday, December 17.

I am a bit nervous about this craft fair (only because I've never done one before) so please come see me if you can!
